Requesting Account Deletion
At GamerTraits, we believe you should have full control over your data. You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal information at any time.
How to Request Deletion
You can initiate an account deletion request through the following methods:
- Self-Service: Log in to your GamerTraits account, go to your Profile Settings, and click the "Request Account Deletion" link at the bottom of the page.
- Email Request: Send an email from your registered email address to admin@gamertraits.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Please include your username to help us identify your account.
Types of Data Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our active databases:
- Personal Identifiers: Your email address, username, password hashes, and bio.
- Linked Platform IDs: Your linked Steam, Xbox, PSN, and Epic Games identifiers.
- Social Content: Your posts, reviews, comments, and reactions.
- Network Data: Your friends list, message history, and notifications.
Data Retention & Backups
Immediate Deletion: Your data is removed from our active production systems within 48 hours of a verified request.
Backup Retention: Encrypted backups of our database are maintained for disaster recovery purposes. Your data will remain in these backups for up to 30 days, after which it is automatically and permanently purged.
Legal Retention: We may retain limited records if required by law or to enforce our Terms of Service (e.g., if an account was banned for serious violations), but such data will be limited to what is strictly necessary.
